Carlos Castaneda (December 25, 1925 April 27, 1998) was an American author and anthropologist who wrote about the spiritual teachings of don Juan, a Yaqui Indian sorcerer. Castaneda wrote about his apprenticeship with don Juan from the late 1950s until don Juan‘s death in 1973. Castaneda‘s books have sold more than 28 million copies worldwide. The books introduced the concepts of don Juan‘s teachings to the general public and are considered classics of the New Age movement.
